How Telemetry Works
Vianet provides an end-to-end telemetry system which includes the hardware required to extract audit data from vending machines and transmit it via GPRS to the Vianet host, and the application software which customers use to run their vending business.
There are two elements to the vOpen service. The first element is the hardware device, or ViTel unit, which is fitted in the vending machine and reads the audit data and transmits it over GPRS to our processing centre. The second element is the ongoing service which includes network provisioning, SIM rental and data transmission, data aggregation and processing, hosting and the vOpen software application.
