Revolutionary Cashless Solution for Catering Environments
Application in schools enables compliance with new healthy eating legislation
Vianet in partnership with CashControl, a specialist in point of sale (POS) application software for the modern catering and vending market, announced at Eu’Vend 2007 (Cologne), the international trade fair for the vending industry, that they have joined forces to bring to market vOpen™ Cashless, a unique cashless (contactless) POS solution for the catering industry.
Demonstrations of the solution will be available throughout Eu’Vend at the Vianet booth (booth E25 shared with ATS, German distributor of vOpen™ products).
vOpen Cashless is a uniquely versatile end-to-end cashless payment solution that is fully integrated with Vianet’s existing vending telemetry applications. In addition vOpen Cashless operates online (unlike most existing cashless solutions) - user-data is not manipulated/stored on users’ cards. This feature brings many advantages including:
- Greatly reduced cost of set up and maintenance
- Remote online management and monitoring
- Security of cash value if the card is lost
- Easy installation with simple set up and maintenance
- Can use existing on-site access systems, e.g. hotel key cards / staff cards
- Fully CE approved and EVA–CVS compliant.
vOpen Cashless handles incentive and/or subsidy schemes to reward loyalty or block/restrict products for certain users, e.g. non-healthy foods in school locations before 6pm. vOpen Cashless will incorporate age verification in order to prevent purchases of age-restricted products such as tobacco, alcohol or adult media.
vOpen Cashless is currently being trialled in Germany by a major international caterer and in the UK by various specialist operators.
