Vianet

In simple terms, our solution consists of a very powerful computer which processes and reports on data received from many viTel devices installed inside remote vending machines.

The Vianet solution design and system architecture have constantly evolved over the last 10 years. Our current market leading solution is the result of years of technical experimentation and experience with remote devices, vending machines, mobile data networks and back office systems not-to-mention many $millions of investment.

The ultra-secure Vianet datacentre, illustrated opposite, is home to a number of complex software programs which provide information and insight to customers via the online web application (below the diagram), email or SMS, depending on the type, urgency and scale of reporting required.

And if a customer also wishes to run ERP software or other business system, the Vianet datacentre can be configured to feed it with information according to specific needs.

viTel Contactless Payment Module

All viTel devices can be complemented with our market-leading Contactless Payment Module (CPM) which, powered by ViVOtech™ technology, uniquely provides up to four cashless contactless-only payment schemes:

  • Contactless Credit Card

  • Mobile Telephone Payment (NFC)

  • Closed User Group, OFFLINE

  • Closed User Group, ONLINE

Our international customers with operations in multiple territories have wide-ranging cashless requirements, and our product has represented opportunities for hardware standardisation. Our CPM is a fully EMV Level 1 certified meaning that it is ready to accept contactless credit cards utilising MasterCard PayPass or Visa PayWave technologies, and NFC mobile telephones.

For closed user group modes, the reader functions with most ISO14443 RFID cards, the most common examples being Mifare and DESFire.

The viTel

The viTel provides the essential link between each vending machine and the Vianet datacentre.

Compliance and compatibility are key design principles of the viTel. With complete support for EVA/NAMA protocols, including DDCMP, DEX and MDB, there is just a small minority of vending machine equipment on the market that is not already compatible with the viTel.

Following basic training, the viTel can be installed into virtually any machine in less than 20 minutes and even enables the installation technician to conduct comprehensive post-installation tests to ensure that the installation was completed correctly before he/she leaves the site.

After installation, the viTel is maintenance-free and will provide many years of robust operation during which time it can be fully controlled, monitored and updated via its wireless GPRS connection to Vianet.

Powerful microprocessor architecture inside the viTel runs an efficient, multi-tasking Real Time Operating System (RTOS). Sophisticated internet communications, real-time serial data exchange, monitoring of connected sensors and even ground-breaking contactless cashless payment services can be managed simultaneously by the viTel.

Unlike PC-based systems and software found elsewhere on the market, the viTel is an embedded device with unrivalled reliability, optimised performance and ultra-low power consumption.
