Improving Efficiency at T3telemetry – Vianet Talks to Grant Anderson, Product Development Analyst

T3telemetry provides wireless Management Information Systems for the proactive monitoring of industrial processes by collecting data from a variety of sources such as energy/water consumption, temperatures, levels, pressures and supply status. This enables companies to measure, control and reduce their carbon footprint.
Vianet spoke to Dr Grant Anderson, Product Development Analyst, about T3telemetry’s choice of Vianet's CONNECT service to provide a solution for remote data applications using SIMs from Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2UK and O2 Ireland (multinetwork roaming).
Dr Anderson explained why T3telemetry chose the Vianet solution. “We were looking for a SIM card provider with more functionality and flexibility than our existing provider. We considered a number of resellers and also going direct but Vianet offered the best combination of price, features, availability and flexibility. Additionally Vianet’s online account management features enable us to monitor and manage our network usage much more easily.”
T3telemetry has installations operating on sites across the UK, which often requires the strongest network available locally for each device. “Using Vianet makes life easier and more efficient as we have multiple networks under the same billing structure,” said Dr Anderson.
In the future T3telemetry will use the Vianet solution throughout their installation base as the business expands into other application areas.
“We estimate that by using Vianet we have realised a 20% cost reduction through more efficient signalling, fewer service visits as we can easily switch between networks and the use of roaming SIM cards for problematic installations,” concluded Dr Anderson.
